Commercial Waste

Being proactive

Did you know?

The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George is working hard to minimize the amount of waste that ends up in our landfills. Our goal is to reduce our annual disposal rate to 570 kg per capita. Working together in partnership with the commercial sector is key to the success of this plan, as commercial waste accounts for almost 60% of the waste delivered to RDFFG’s Foothills Boulevard Regional Landfill.

How can you help?

Building waste separation processes into your operations saves everyone time and money. Review what kind of waste you generate and plan on how it will be disposed.  This proactive approach might require some changes now but will quickly become routine, and benefit all of us.  Two of the largest types of waste we see from commercial operations are Demolition, Land Clearing and Construction Waste (DLC) and Commercial Cardboard.
